As India is battling with second wave and there is news about future waves, here are the top 10 life-lessons listed from Covid-19 during first wave, which still remains unchanged. Let's make sure our lessons from wave 1 are not forgotten.
We are one humanity.
Your life perspective changes – Time to introspect and reflect.
Don’t get carried away with materialism – Show cashing them is of no use.
Time to redefine Diplomacy, Politics, and Education.
No political or religious news, let’s talk Spirituality and Science.
Rediscover yourself during the lock down period.
Everyone should learn life skills like - Cooking, farming, gardening etc.
Stay connected to the roots – Time for India to take charge.
Learn to appreciate mother nature.
Death needs to be talked about !
1. We are one humanity
Fight COVID-19 with determination and resilience, guided by Spirituality, Science, and Facts.
Continue to help one another and make sure no one goes hungry in your vicinity.
Collaborate to increase production and delivery of critical supplies thus removing trade barriers.
Second outbreak possibility or another virus pandemic can't be ruled out completely - Stay safe, stay immune, avoid consuming unhealthy food and drinks.
2. Time to introspect & reflect
If we can seize this opportunity, this pandemic has the potential to change society to become better.
Do not bother how other people live, those are distractions. Lead a life of simplicity and authenticity. In the beginning, you may find it difficult, but you will find all joy and mental peace.
Many people across the globe during the first lockdown were able to live without alcohol or Gutkha for more than two months – So it’s a state of mind which we can witness now. And controlling our mind is the need of the hour.
3. Materialism
During lockdown many such initiatives to showcase - bodybuilding, saree challenge, cooking challenge, bungalow, big car, and jewelry show cashing by men and women – are just materialistic distractions. Stay away.
4. Rediscover yourself
It’s time to go back to basics.
Understand your and your family member's strengths and weaknesses. Bridge the gaps around the weakness to fight against the virus.
5. Life Skills
Learning Life skills can help you build resilience and helps you to survive compared to corporate skills.
Attain sustainable life skills and supreme knowledge.
6. Redefine our systems
Many systems need to be changed, let's first talk about our education system:
Time to change the traditional education system and its objectives. Life-skill-based education with teaching on “ways of life“ should be the objective. Spirituality should be kept at the core of the education syllabus along with a focus on science and technology. So far our education system has been trying to be a copy cat of the western education system to convert our kids into money-making machines. Spirituality should be at the center as a core subject and science, technology, literature, culture, etc. should be taught along with it.
We have witnessed how the invisible enemy bio-logical weapon is more dangerous than a nuclear bomb or any other missiles or arsenals, time to re-define global diplomacy and politics.
7. Spirituality and Science
How does Spirituality help to fight Covid-19? In order to understand this first one needs to know what is spirituality and how to learn it. It is self-experiential and existential, so you need to go and self-experiment and experience it.
Given the fact that this virus will remain with us in this world for a longer time, we need a solid framework to deal with this.
Once you know what is spirituality apply the Spirituality framework for fighting against Covid-19. A two-step approach: -Step 1 - Preventative measure (Avoidance) -Step 2 - Corrective measure (Treatment with medical science)
Preventive measure - Spirituality teaches us the way of life including what we should eat (why we should stay away from eating non-veg), why should we offer our food to the lord before we eat, how we should maintain personal hygiene, and how we should take care of our body. This creates a preventive or protective layer for us, so that first of all we don’t get into such kind of problems like Coronavirus. Spirituality way of life can help bring positive disciplines within individuals and also across society. Tagging secularism and religious angle to Spirituality is not going to help anymore.
Corrective Measure - At the same time for those who are already impacted by Covid-19, the discovery of medicine and the vaccine is important and urgent. By pursuing science and technology with spirituality at the core we can discover the drugs better and faster. The greatest of the scientists and leaders of this world have the spiritual mindset to keep themselves & their mind-controlled so that they could apply their best knowledge of science correctly.
8. Stay connected to roots – Time for India to take charge
Indian knowledge is universal knowledge that can help humanity to come out of this global crisis.
The knowledge of the inner world and outer world and experiencing the connection is all that is needed for the entire world to come out of this global crisis.
The entire world has started understanding the values of Indian knowledge. Namaste is a better way to greet someone. It respects directly the soul of the person, which is eternal.
9. Mother Nature
During the lockdown nature started self-healing.
Rivers to ozone layers, glaciers to the pleasant sound of birds, and many such examples are available.
We need a fundamental change in our perspectives to achieve a sustainable society, sadly corona still not able to bring that perspective in our mind. The way forward should be along with innovation, science, and technology, bring the Spirituality perspective in life, learn to worship mother nature, create the change in habit - AVOID, REDUCE and REPLACE!
10. Death
No one is coming to save you. No one will go with you and therefore life is responsibility and responsibility is life!
